Thanks for the great guide. I used this to get 10.6.0 running on my 1015PE. Then I ran into trouble. The combo update failed and left me unbootable. Now I'm trying to start from scratch again and the installer won't load.

It gives me an error that says: Unable to patch 64bit kernel. Please use arch=i386 to use a 10.6.2 or newer kernel. Can't find machkernel Sometimes it also follows with the error: Memory allocation error (0x103a5110, 0x73fcaa55) Any ideas as to what could be causing this? I've tried the arch=i386 command, and it makes no difference. Also related is why the combo update wouldn't work for me. It got almost to the end, then said the update failed. And the AR9285 driver doesn't make a difference on my system.

My wireless card seems to be the AzureWave 762. I wrote this how to a while ago. I've learned a bit since then. As for the wireless, you may want to try deleting the original IO80211Family.kext, /s/l/e/Extensions.mkext and /s/l/e/Extensions.kextcache before installing the Atheros driver. IF you do in fact have a different wifi card then my driver won't help. It's strange, after owning this nebook for so long without any problems I managed to break my system to the point where I had to reinstall and every method I've tried previously is no longer working.

I finally was able to get 10.6.3 retail installed with the Nawcom ModCD, then installing NBM, but I have to boot with -v or else it KPs. Still hangs half the time before DSMOS has arrived.
