Synthetic Aperture has unveiled, an update to its color correction software. The utility works as an Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro plug-in, with a variety of tools for altering highlight and shadow effects. The update brings 64-bit support in Adobe CS5, a feature that helps to reduce out-of-memory errors during effects rendering. Other changes include integrated Auto Color and Auto Exposure buttons, along with additional controls for image saturation via the new Vibrance setting. The latest version adds tools for recovering over-exposed areas, new export options for color correction settings, and enhancements to the preview window. Support is also offered for the Tangent Wave control surface, in addition to the previously added Colorociter surface.

Lastly, the upgrade offers new HSL curves that can be used to control image saturation and lightness based on color hue. Color Finesse requires Adobe After Effects 7, CS3 through CS5, Motion 4.0, and Final Cut Pro 6/7. The plug-in is priced at $575, with upgrades from prior versions starting at $150.
